Preserving Your Family Legacy

Have you been here before?

You go to pull up some old photos you had taken that have been stored on your old computer or disc or usb (discs are even obsolete now on laptops!)

Only to be met with an error message that there are no photos....

I have been there, a couple times and the complete horror - you never really get over. ESPECIALLY as a memory maker :)

It's a devasting loss, because this has happened to be not once, but twice and one of the times I had a 3 back up spot plan in place and couldn't get them back. even with 3 separate spots!

I decided that was the last time I let that happen and I switched up keeping client photos forever (or trying too) and letting clients know they are deleted after download.

I started offering albums and wall art, because what I believe is that is the safest back up. A tangible item you can hold on to forever and pass down.

I don't know about you, but I am obsessed with my mom and there really is no better gift I have then the photos she has given me of her growing up.

What a complete cutie she was, just perfect. it makes my soul ache in a weird way. The life before, the heartaches or happiness I wasn't a part of - a glimpse into a time I will never know. IT IS SO SPECIAL TO ME.

I imagine what it will be like for a mom to hire me for a legacy family session and have a beautiful time and gorgeous photos in an album that I specially curate, I imagine the children in those photos as adults when their mom is gone - looking at the album, perfectly preserved and sharing it with their children saying "I can't believe that is me, that I was this little. look at my here - I was 6!" It brings tears to my eyes every time I imagine it.

There is nothing better in my opinion but that memory, nothing brings tears to my eyes and so much love and gratitude for those who loved before me so that I could exist MORE than going through old family albums...now, I was born to a mom who couldn't see her beauty so my family photos to look back on while small are still endearing as ever. I honestly have 3. That's it. I would GIVE to have a family photo album of the magic and love my momma cultivated - especially now with 2 siblings gone and a dad gone.

I want you to have tangible items of the love story we told through your family photos, it matters more than you think it does, some studies have shown seeing happy loving images daily of you and your family help children develop content and peace in a happy environment, even if there is trauma - there is proof of happiness and it is crucial for children's minds.
