It is never too late to find the one.

Updated: Jan 31

Life, let's face it can be overwhelming.

It can knock you down, make you cry, make you scream, infuriate you.

Sometimes if not most times you go through it mostly alone. You are on your own journey, and you have to push through and be accepting of what is thrown at you.

This pandemic is frustrating, sad, scary and makes you think about what is to come after all this. I'll be the first to admit I was struggling bad with anxiety and worry over things I cannot control.

You are given the cards you are given, and you have to play your hand.

In all my worry I was not able to do any boudoir, couples or family sessions and it was sorrowful, the little joy I have in this life was taken away to keep us all safe. Which I get but photography lights my soul. I was bummed.

Things started opening back up and quickly I had several bookings, I am so grateful to those who are helping my business in these unimaginable times, but what I am more grateful for, what has truly lit my soul again in a way I forgot was possible...was capturing your love story.

and guys...I got to capture my brother and one of my best friends love stories last night!

My brother, Tyler waited a very long time for love to show up on his door. My brother who is so loveable and funny and graciously kind (he dropped everything at 1am on a Thursday to help me get an art show together - really he is one of the few that ALWAYS has my back!) Tyler took 40 some years to find the one, but boy did he find it and he found it with someone INCREDIBLE.

His perfect person is Sherri and I just could not be more thrilled or honored to be capturing their love story. This couple is so engaging and enthralled with one another, it doesn't just radiate through the photos, but it is radiating through their whole lives. Every aspect, every moment, every day it becomes more obvious that they were meant for one another. Their souls are meant to be together.

When you find love, true love it overflows in to all aspects of your life. It reminds me of this quote from the Velveteen Rabbit, one of my favorites...

“Real isn't how you are made. It's a thing that happens to you. Sometimes it hurts, but when you are Real you don't mind being hurt. It doesn't happen all at once. You become. Once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. Once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always.”

Margery Williams Bianco, The Velveteen Rabbit

I love seeing my brother like this and I am so thrilled to have Sherri in our family, not only as my sister in law, but as my sister.

Congratulations Tyler and Sherri!
